A note on forecasting:

The aim of forecasting isn’t simply to try and predict what is going to happen; the reader is not meant to be a passive receiver of a "fixed fate", in fact quite the opposite. The nature and purpose of forecasting is to build a living relationship with the archetypal energies in play: as we read, awareness is activated on deep levels that support the way we relate to a changing and dynamic collective field.
A connection is initiated with the living field matrix much like a generous handshake, salutation or greeting. In a sense it is a sacred tending of the spiritual fire; a way we can positively engage the imminence of the field, so that we can prepare and adjust to shifts in the energy around us. Like the strumming of chords on a guitar, we don’t have to remember everything precisely, but instead allow ourselves to be moved and attuned. In this way we already begin to respond even without really knowing. In some instances key themes may sing to us in ways that become more meaningful as the weeks pass and life events unfold.
Preamble:
The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.
For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aries new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.
At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.
To begin with…

Typically the Scorpio lunation activates a call to go deeper, to embrace self-transformation, to unveil what we most need to see that is currently hidden from us, to deal more directly with our emotions, and to embrace release-processes. Higher-Self guiding impulses will tend to call us more inward, and life processes may involve intense challenges connected to power and powerlessness - this could play out in real time through adversarial figures, or we might be working through early life events or inner obstacles to bring them to resolution within.
Scorpio energy is often experienced as intensity as it amplifies the impulse to evolve, and this month there is a striking stellium of 6 planets in Scorpio amplifying the archetype further.
We’ve had an intense period of spiritual activation for most of 2025, perhaps peaking during the September eclipse season, but not set to abate for some time yet. This New Moon chart is highly charged with some striking geometry including a Grand Fixed Square, several Grand Trines, and numerous oppositions generating both energy and tension. So lets take a deeper look at some of the archetypal themes on offer this month…

Shadow themes arising within or without must be dealt with objectively

The Scorpio New Moon is making conjunction to both Mercury and Typhon in Scorpio by exact degree. Typhon is a fierce archetypal energy, especially in Scorpio: all the dark energies in the world are being stirred up for collective processing as the new influx of high frequency cosmic energy pushes it upward into our awareness. With the New Moon in exact conjunction, the Typhonic energies will probably feature in a more prominent way this month, calling us to integrate shadow aspects in one way or another. This is a great time for soul-retrieval and the deep releasing of negative energy, as well as unresolved personal themes connected to the use and abuse of power in this life or other lifetimes.
Uranus the awakener, sits in direct opposition to Typhon and the New Moon presenting us with an integration challenge:
Can we allow ourselves to feel deep and intense emotions, while also observing them from a more detached perspective in order to bring the light of awareness to them?
Can we recognise when either we or someone else is misusing power (whether physical, sexual, mental, financial or social) and bring more awareness to this?
For some of us this might be a month where powerful conflict dynamics serve to generate more personal awareness about hidden dynamics within ourselves or our relationships. Patterns of co-dependency may be revealed; endings may occur.
Mercury also at 28˚ Scorpio in opposition to Uranus (the higher octave of Mercury) could manifest as challenges to our fixed perception of what we think reality is, as more truth is revealed. It can also stimulate us to understand with fresh insight the things in our lives we don’t normally see very clearly. With Pluto in Aquarius (ruled by Uranus) in sextile to Mercury and the New Moon, there is real opportunity to see, learn and finally understand!
Sedna in Gemini is also opposing the New Moon, and she might activate some clear breakthroughs in the way we perceive the world, and some insights may pertain to deep seated patterns of wounding, victimisation and trauma coming up to be addressed.
In what ways do we let others, past and present, dictate to us who we are, and what we are here to be and do?
This is a powerful window of time, when we can see the way an acceptance of the False Matrix reality profoundly limits our co-creative capacity and directs our life force energy to dark forces. By the same token its also a potent opportunity for liberation, and another step toward decoupling from the False Matrix via a reawakening to the Living Field Matrix as a natural expression of the authentic and true Logos-Source-Intelligence.
Potent activations for personal transformations

A primary driver for this month’s chart is a Grand Fixed Square aspect featuring Venus [in Scorpio], Chariklo, Albion and Varuna. While the Grand Square probably won’t be driving crisis at the mundane level, due to the presence of 2 trans-Neptunian archetypes (quantum high frequency), for those receptive to the higher frequencies there will be considerable tension focused on inner transformations and reclamation of power this month. The Scorpio nature of this New Moon will provide impetus toward an unveiling of self if we allow it.
The fixed nature of this Grand Square makes for a rising sense of inertia and simultaneous pressure, where any feelings of being stuck or trapped in limiting patterns become very clear. This Grand Square is really asking us to let go of an old way of being, and through the release of old attachments, to heal on many levels, and emerge with deep new awareness and personal power.
Shadow elements may form part of this evolutionary picture; we may have to face up to issues of control, manipulation or co-dependency.
Albion in exact opposition to Venus poses an integration challenge, particularly for the soul initiate (Albion trine Orcus and the South Node): DNA activation goes hand in hand with a deep release of limiting patterns, and these emotional and mental patterns are connected to how we relate to the feminine principle (we are collectively enmeshed in thousands of years of patriarchal karma), and the suffering caused by the profound disconnect humanity is engulfed in (False Matrix reality) [Albion sextile to Nessus and the North Node]. In essence we all have to periodically move through cathartic experiences that test us spiritually and lead us to deeper spiritual awareness and connection.
This month, personal shadow-work is an intrinsic part of our evolutionary process, and for this reason, working productively with the Grand Square will, for many, mean working to master our lower nature. This is symbolised not only by the stellium in Scorpio, and Venus in Scorpio as the anchor point for the Grand Square (Venus as a personal planet naturally acts as a repository for the higher frequency archetypes; they get grounded through the Venus function), it also shows up in an exact opposition aspect between Ixion and Hygeia conjunct Asbolus in Cancer. Ixion represents the lower nature of humanity; the possibility and choice each one of us can make between service to the whole versus service to self; the choice to break the natural covenant with life itself. In extreme this expresses as the urger to murder, rape or violate, but for most of us its more about moments when we put personal desires first without any consideration for others or future consequences e.g. when we put sexual gratification before marriage vows, or when we put money before honesty, or social status before friendship.
This issue is getting more and more salient in the external world as it becomes ever more obvious that the world is divided by those in service-to-self (often pathological and in positions of power within the elite classes) and the common people, who for the most part, are orientated toward service-to-other in the sense that we care about the world. As Pluto continues through Aquarius, we can expect this theme to become more energised.
And yet at a personal level we are being asked to level up in some way, and to consider our own actions and the underlying patterns that drive them in order to heal social division. Ixion lessons call us to make more conscious the moment to moment free will choice all humans are given between the dark and light paths:
Do we really live in service to a greater good?
Are there some areas of life where we are primarily service-to-self?
How much is a focus on self-interest rooted in social conditioning?
This month, part of the process is linked to a gentle and forgiving appraisal of our ourselves as we make new choices. For anyone identified with the role of light-worker this will mean levelling up to become more aligned in true service to the whole, and the release of patterns of service-to-self. This doesn’t mean we become selfless, but rather that we forgo fear-based concerns for status and wealth, and align our creative efforts to a greater good in trust that everything will be ok.

Chariklo in opposition to Varuna speaks to the way that this whole process can bring us to new levels of wholeness and self-mastery. Chariklo asks us to make space for personal healing to take place, while Varuna (in retrograde motion) is moving us to review and refine our sense of alignment with cosmic law principles, and to throw off any egotistic desire impulses that are rooted in a lack of self love.
Can we, through gentle openness to the divine mystery, allow ourselves to be directed in accordance with our spiritual mission?
If we stop what we think we should be doing, and make space and time for genuine soul healing, we can become more enabled to live in accordance with the Higher-Self.
If we can trust enough in this process, through the Chariklo - Chiron/Eris sextile, we can reach a new level of autonomy and sovereignty free from the patterns of the past.
Love as a principle of redemption
The New Moon stellium at 28˚ Scorpio is worth unpacking in more detail because Typhon is part of this energy fusion. Typhon is fundamentally a dark archetype, and while some modern astrologers like to assign a default positive to archetypes like these as a counterbalance, I am currently minded to let the darker archetypes like Typhon and Ixion just be dark. This isn’t to imply that there is nothing positive about them; the shadow has a lot to teach us, and when we handle shadow intrusions or challenges well, we can emerge stronger and more powerful than before.

Typhon represents monstrous uncontrolled distorted energy expressing in many ways such as unbridled hatred, destructive rage, nihilistic soullessness, and wild chaotic turbulence with no apparent purpose. Typhonic eruptions can lead to events such as the murder of Charlie Kirk, the senseless shooting of innocent children, or the tragic UK killings in Southport of young 8 year olds at a dance class. Perpetrators are typically perceived by others to be possessed in some way.
Carl Jung warned that when individuals or nations lose touch with their own shadow, they become vulnerable to demonic forces, as the collective unconscious can manifest in destructive ways if not acknowledged. He observed that the collective shadow can be unleashed in a "collective frenzy," where individuals, driven by impersonal forces, can transform from reasonable beings into maniacs or savages. The shadow, as a collective force, is not currently integrated, and as such it seeks new victims, and the key to preventing its destructive potential lies in individual self-awareness and the integration of the shadow
Typhon is now culminating in Scorpio, having been in the sign since 2017, and this means that dark energy eruptions could escalate or intensify as we collectively come to terms with the shadow aspects we tend to avoid or deny. Typhon will begin to ingress into Sagittarius by the end of this year, which will bring us into overall lighter territory again.
The Sabian symbol for the 29th degree of Scorpio is:
"An Indian squaw pleading to the chief for the lives of her children"

[The Sabian symbols offer added nuance to the energy quality of each degree of the zodiac]
Here we see the soul interceding on behalf of the ego to attenuate the dictates of karma. In our personal lives this equates to the possibility of grace (a Christian concept for God’s unmerited love and mercy) to be bestowed upon us in ways that redeem us from past acts that generated negative karma.

This suggests that if we ask the Higher-Self and Source for grace, this month is an opportune moment to embrace love as a principle of redemption, in order to be released from the burdens of karmic debt in this life or past lives.
For starseeds and wanderer souls, this can represent an opportunity to liberate from the ties and tethers that obstruct the full realisation of ones life mission. What is emphasised here is the hidden nature of dark forces and how they intrude and interfere with the benevolent purpose of the light-worker, which can often go unnoticed and lead to tremendous frustration and life inertia.
I feel we are entering a window of time when many starseed souls can begin to see the nature of the predicament and awaken to a more nuanced metaphysical understanding; if we don’t know we are trapped in dark programs, mind traps, and timeline warfare, we can’t do anything about it - awareness (Uranus in opposition) elicits new possibility.
The Dark Forces tend to operate in the background, sometimes in plain sight, yet hidden and cloaked. This is aptly captured in the Matrix movie where the majority are enslaved in a system without their knowing.
The Earth is on the threshold of a kind of freedom it hasn’t seen in thousands of years, and while Typhon’s stirrings and upheavals in the collective shadow might feel disturbing, this has served to bring more awareness into the collective field of the nature of Dark Forces and how they operate.
With Hygeia and Asbolus in opposition to Ixion in Capricorn, the challenge will be how we map, track, heal and integrate the personal shadow in our own lives, in ways that can bring radical rebirth and regeneration. It takes courage to own ones shadow nature and bring love to it.
Positive evolutionary action if we choose to elevate our vibrational offering

While Venus is the anchor point of a Grand Fixed Square, Mars in Sagittarius is the anchor point for a Grand Fire Trine. By anchor point I refer to how the personal planets (closer to the sun), which represent functions of the psyche that are most readily felt by ego awareness, act as natural grounders for the higher frequency ‘quantum’ trans-neptunian bodies orbiting further from the sun. Salacia and Varuna join forces to add elevation to our desire impulses through optimistic Sagittarius: this can be an expansive time if we care to align with the Logos and natural law.
This is a close trine, channeling a lot of high frequency energy into the type of actions we are motivated to take this month.
While the Grand Square drives for inner transformations and release processes, Mars in Sagittarius, amplified by Salacia in Aries (the courage to envision positive futures) and Varuna in Leo (the impulse to recognise a higher ordering principle and alignment with the Higher-Self), offers us a degree of buoyancy and an open willingness to learn in ways that generate more hope, optimism and life meaning. This is a valuable asset in a month when we are tasked with considerable shadow work of one form or another, whether we deal with the shadow directly or see it playing out in the world.
Finally…
There are a considerable number of retrograde planets in the New Moon chart, emphasising a more internalised process, one that involves reviewing the past, reliving past issues if necessary, and resolving and releasing as well.

Mercury only recently turned retrograde on November 9th, and his position at the heart of a Scorpio stellium highlights his role in a month where shadow work is emphasised. In Jungian thought, Mercury is an essential ally in shadow integration work, and his retrograde motion drives the mercurial function inward and deeper; this is a time for penetrating illusions and mental blocks in order to reach a deeper more objective personal truth; what we see may be confronting and challenging, but it will open the way to a more authentic way of being.
The Mercury retrograde is accompanied by a Jupiter retrograde as well, and both are in harmonious trine, adding a helpful sense-making capacity as the left and right brain functions (logic and intuition) work in greater flow toward inner resolution, healing and empowerment this month.
The retrograde emphasis is abating however: Pluto recently when direct last month, Saturn will turn direct next week, and Neptune will turn direct in early December. This will begin to release us from “internal house cleaning” and allow for more outer movements to flow and generate, especially collectively; we can expect to see the fruits of the retrograde period expressing as productive outer-world developments occur.
