Pluto Out-of-Bounds 2025-2035

In this post I am going to highlight the work of astrologer Rosie Finn who recently appeared on Pam Gregory’s You Tube channel, connected to a specific astrological technique that observes when planetary bodies move outside the normal ‘bounds’ of the path of the sun. When planets move “out of bounds” their influence is amplified and less controlled.
Western astrology is geocentric; its ‘magic’ is rooted in the unique perspective of the observer within space-time i.e. humanity looking out at the universe from a specific place on the planet at any moment in time. This means that although we know that the Earth revolves around the sun, from a human visual perspective the sun appears to move around the Earth, and the path of the sun is called the ecliptic.
Typically the orbiting planets don’t exactly match the path of the ecliptic, but they do stay within a 23˚ 27’ angle (north or south) of the ecliptic for the most part. Sometimes however planets can move beyond this ‘boundary’, the most common being the Moon, while Saturn never moves out of bounds.
Out-of-bounds planets are said to behave or express in more extreme and intensified ways. Rosie Finn has been studying the declination (orbital angle) of Pluto and tracking Pluto’s out-of-bounds cycles, looking back thousands of years through history and has noticed a clear pattern connected to cycles of power and reform.
Pluto has typically moved out of bounds twice every 250 years for about a 20 year period, and the pattern shows that every time Pluto moves out of bounds to the north we can see in history the rise of power toward conquest and empire; when it moves out of bounds to the south, we historically see the breakdown of empires and a move toward reformation and redistribution of power.

In recent years Pluto’s sojourns out of bounds have been getting shorter, and about 10 years from now, Pluto will not move out of bounds at all for several thousands of years. This in itself marks a coming change in the way we evolve.
The last time Pluto went out of bounds to the north was between 1938-1952 and coincided with WWII, when we saw Hitler trying to establish a new empire aka the 3rd Reich, and by the end of it we saw the rise of the USA as an empire instead, one which is now arguably in decay or on a threshold of irrevocable change (tied in to the USA Pluto Return cycle).
Notably for the most part, when Pluto goes out of bounds to the north, he is generally transiting the sign of Leo, which then amplifies qualities such as leadership, individuality, and narcissism in relation to power. When Pluto goes out of bounds to the south, he is typically in the sign of Aquarius, which then amplifies qualities such as universal brotherhood, humanitarianism, and revolution, in relation to power.
Now that Pluto has entered Aquarius, we are soon approaching a time period, of about 10 years, when Pluto will be out-of-bounds to the south, and we can expect world events to intensify toward reform, redistribution of power, and greater social equality world-wide. The good news is that Pluto will not (unlike previous epochs) move out of bounds for a solid 20 years; he will instead sojourn beyond the ‘boundary’ for about 3 months each year, followed by a 9 month assimilation and integration period, which should help us work with these potent evolutionary impulses in a more controlled, peaceful and harmonious way.
Pluto out of bounds will of course have an impact on our own personal evolution, and will represent time periods when Pluto’s energy will be felt, or play out, in more extreme and intense ways. It’s worth noting that even while Pluto moves back into the normal orbital zone, whatever is initiated during the out of bounds periods can carry over, so we may well feel an overall intensification from now onwards until 2035. The mythic story of the abduction of Persephone comes to mind here; an out-of-bounds Pluto could feel more palpable to us, and if we a due for a dive into the underworld process, we could feel like Pluto has just grabbed us from nowhere. No one really enjoys underworld process at least until we see the fruits of the work, and for this reason intense Pluto energy can feel like we have been abducted from normal life, and when we do return, that life we once had won't be the same again. The intensity of Pluto is partially in our own hands; if we resist evolutionary necessity we will co-generate sudden cataclysmic change in our personal lives; if we accept the soul evolutionary impulse it will feel like we are releasing a layer of the old and obsolete - sometimes Pluto process can unveil lost talent or capacity.
Its interesting to note that Orcus, an archetype I associate with Persephone as the spiritual initiate, and descent and ascent cycles, will be conjunct the South Node in Virgo at the time Pluto moves out of bounds, suggesting that some of us might be reclaiming past life capacity connected with healing and service to other in the coming months. Another way to think of this is the activation of more "technicians of the sacred" in the world; a call to those in a spiritual path to work more deeply with positive healing ritual as a quiet service contributing to greater world stability and harmony.
This year Pluto will be out of bounds from Sep 11- Nov 9. The cycle will increase in duration every year from now until 2030, and thereafter begin to decrease every year until Nov 3rd 2035. After that Pluto will not move out of bounds for thousands of years.
This astrological cycle is yet another indicator of the changing times moving into a time period of greater stability and harmony, despite what is current playing out in the world of appearances, but we should be prepared for things to get more intense as we move deeper into transition to a new world paradigm, while remembering that where we place our thoughts is both powerful and critical. We can contribute to planetary stabilisation through collective meditations on peace and the betterment of our world, which has been shown in studies to improve outcomes.
Rosie Finn highlights 5 different future scenarios:
Collapse - our existing systems of power inequality could over a 10 year period collapse altogether, which of course would be undesirable due to the chaos it would create.
Revolution - we saw this play out during the French Revolution period, and in today’s socio-political climate this theme is emerging with the civil war narrative, either in the states or in Europe. Some revolutions, like the French Revolution, were bloody and violent and literally overthrew the existing paradigm of rulership, but revolutions can be milder and serve to inform the ruling class that they have to change, as happened during the Byzantine period. If we do see revolutionary uprisings they could be in specific inequality hot spots around the planet.
Reformation - this would involve mass peaceful protests and demonstrations that incite more collaborative leadership and a decentralisation of power moving away from monarchy style rulership e.g. monarchs, prime ministers and presidents to a more collective form of governance e.g. high-councils of 12 (to use an old sacred number)
Scientific paradigm shift - breakthroughs in technology and the way we understand the universe, moving away from science materialism to panpsychism and beyond could have radical influence on society especially if it involved the development and release of ‘free energy’ for example. This would mean finally understanding magnetism, understanding light in a new way i.e. light as information, stars as conscious spiritual intelligences etc.
Spiritual Awakening - a mass shift in consciousness having far reaching effects on what we co-create, through a return to connectivity, empathy, sensitivity, compassion, love and heart knowing. So much seems to rest in each one of us as we choose to awaken beyond the confines of social conditioning to become increasingly more sovereign and aligned with soul purpose, and the potent knock on effects planet wide as we move into a radical non-compliance with the existing values and philosophies of the False Matrix reality that cycles through endless war and rivalry.
In my view it is likely we will see all of these scenarios playing out in the world, some more than others. A certain degree of collapse for example might be needed to stimulate reformation or awakening, through food and power shortages and a need to come together again. This will depend on how the collective awakening is progressing and will relate directly to frequency and ones personal vibrational offering. Whatever unresolved past life patterns from the old cycle of darkness and separation we still hold within us at the soul level, will have to be released layer by layer. This is what many of us are doing week by week, but suffice to say that the type of patterns we are holding on to may become life manifestations through the law of attraction - such manifestations help us to really understand the unconscious energy patterns we are choosing to inhabit . The more attuned we are to the heart-knowing and the more able we are to flow with the intuitive guiding impulse, the easier this next time period will be, since we can optimise outcomes within the karma we are given to work with.
I am not suggesting we merely impose upon ourselves a positive outlook as this would push things more into the shadow; it is more about cultivating a heart awakening through a sincere desire to heal and make whole. All of us have soul agreements to carry and process collective ancestral karma through our genetic lineage, and this of course varies from person to person. The way we process and heal ancestral trauma will also vary from soul to soul. Anything to do with Pluto, and especially Pluto out of bounds, links directly to Shadow work. The more fluent we become at Shadow work the easier these transit years will be, and we can all expect to engage the personal Shadow in a cyclical fashion as part of an ongoing awakening ascension process.
