This year the Virgo Solar Eclipse occurs just 23 hours before the September equinox, and with little difference between the two charts, the Virgo Solar Eclipse post offers a comprehensive composite forecast for both astronomical events.
There is however a particularly interesting aspect pattern I think deserves its own space, which I will cover in this post.
Overview

The equinoxes represent liminal thresholds where cosmic energy more deeply penetrates the planetary field, and if we see the Sun as a relay station for cosmic informational energy, the potent harmonised archetypal energy of a Grand Kite aspect, now sets up a surge of influence, carrying forward for the next 3 months.
In an earlier post - Planetary Quickening 2025-2028 - I offer some insight about the stunning astrological alignments of the current moment in time - namely the configuration of Pluto trine to Uranus, while both are simultaneously sextile to a Neptune/Saturn conjunction, all in the early degrees of signs, lasting several years.

While this energy gestalt holds firmly in place, stimulating a great deal of evolutionary change, it will periodically be activated by a faster moving planet forming, for a short time, a Grand Kite aspect.
A Grand Kite aspect represents finely tuned and harmonised energy flows that can generate fast inner or outer changes. The faster moving planet acts as a temporary carrier or lens for these energies.
Right now the collective dynamic driving planetary acceleration will be activated by the Equinox Sun, and the presence of 4 Yods strongly highlights this precise archetypal geometry as one involving complex internal adjustments.

Astro Technicals:
The chart cast for the September Equinox features a strong Grand Kite formation and 4 Yods all within a close 2˚ orb.
The Grand Kite features Pluto, Uranus and the Sun in trine to each other, with the Saturn/Neptune conjunction opposing the equinox Sun, and sextile to Pluto and Uranus
Yod 1 features Neptune sextile Uranus with Mars at the apex
Yod 2 features Pluto sextile to Neptune with Venus at the apex
Yod 3 features Hygeia sextile to Venus with Pluto at the apex
Yod 4 features Venus sextile Mars with Neptune at the apex
The equinox Sun is at the mid-point between Mars and Venus
A solar alchemical opportunity

Venus and Mars represent the feminine and masculine principles respectively. Venus-Mars interactions can represent the way we evolve through personal spiritual alchemy i.e. the resolution of apparent opposing inner-forces as a way to reach higher states of consciousness.
In the Libra equinox forecast chart, Mars and Venus in sextile momentarily function as a container or crucible for the Equinox Sun, which is positioned at the midpoint between these two archetypes; the Equinox Sun then acts as a focal point for powerful alchemical potential.

The archetype of the Sun represents our capacity to self-actualise; solar transits can activate greater self-awareness, sovereignty, creative self-expression and sense of life-purpose. These energy dynamics are now imprinted into the planetary field for easier access over about the next 3 months, highlighting this period of time as one with very real potential to awaken to deeper levels of soul-essence, in ways that guide us to live in greater alignment with the Higher-Will, often expressed as the path we are meant to take in life.

The aim of spiritual alchemy is to become more and more aligned with the Holy Guardian Angel - a symbol of the Higher-Self or Higher Will. For the spiritual initiate this is a process that is ongoing throughout life.
This theme is innately connected to the concept of individuation:
Making what you are, what you inherited from the universe, specific…
Making what you’ve got of the collective in you individual…
To become your own way, of moving through life…
That is the hardest thing you can ask of a human being
(Quote by Sir Laurence van der Post)
The solar-crucible (Venus, Mars and the Sun) features as the baseline of a Yod with Neptune and Saturn at the apex: the evolutionary power of Venus-Mars alchemy drives us toward an individualised interface with the Divine, pushing us to become more aware of our innate spiritual nature.
As suggested in earlier posts, the Saturn-Neptune conjunction at 0˚ Aries (Feb 2026) represents a profound inception point for humankind. In some ways this could be the birthing time of a new reality or human evolutionary timeline.
This equinox, the conjunction is still culminating, which spiritualises the aspect considerably, infusing us with dreams, visions, longings, stirrings and aspirations related to a more spiritually fulfilling life. This may emerge out of a sustained period of disillusionment and disenchantment with the world as it is. For some it may emerge as a new light penetrating a socially conditioned atheistic and nihilistic reality view.
The Yods

Yods are aspects where two planets are in sextile while both simultaneously connect with a 3rd planet by 135˚. In the chart, Yods look like an isosceles triangle and typically the planet at the apex is under evolutionary pressure to develop in some way.
The equinox chart features 4 Yods, which means that 5 planets are positioned at apexes. This generates a great deal of internal tension toward developing all 5 of these archetypes, which is a lot of inner work!
In addition to Saturn and Neptune:
Mars is at the apex of a Yod driven by Uranus and Neptune - powerful and inspired spiritual insights stimulate us to let go of the old, go deeper into self-understanding to heal and empower.
A Yod featuring Pluto sextile to Neptune with Venus at the apex - the liberation from obsolete structures and the dissolution of old identities stimulate us to purify our inner-world and reconfigure the relationship to self as necessary.
Venus sextile to Hygeia with Pluto at the apex - internal reconfigurations dovetail with emotional healing and integration processes to further quicken an ongoing collective and unconscious impulse toward awakening and greater freedom.
Self-realisation is supported now
The Equinox Sun serves to activate and focus energy toward self-realisation. We are all of course somewhere in this process; some are more egocentric, while others are more aligned to solar consciousness, and for this reason the opportunity will express in unique ways.
The more conscious we are, the more likely we can make good use of this transit. It’s also true to say that even if we aren’t greatly aware, the energies can still move us; evolution still happens whether we cooperate or not, its just more graceful when we do. For the less consciously evolved individual, alchemical opportunities will generally play out as some form of external polarisation and potential challenge, attraction, or conflict.
Its helpful to reference Tarot to understand this better:

In Tarot, Key 6 - The Lovers represents alchemical processes at the early stages. Lovers are attracted to each other precisely because they embody an natural polarity with each other; each partner representing qualities the other partner is needing to awaken to, and integrate within. The card shows yin and yang forces depicted as a woman and a man meeting and connecting with each other, while over-lighted by the holy guardian angel of the Sun (higher-self)

Key 14 - Temperance represents a later stage of the alchemical journey, where now the integration is happening solely within the individual, even if the outer environment provides the stimulus for the inner-work to take place. Following on from The Lovers, Temperance shows a more developed state of inner-alchemy; the yin and yang forces are now co-mingling in the form of two cups, and the process is more internalised. The angel indicates greater self-awareness of what must be done, but the goal of alchemy is not yet attained; a path leads off into the distance toward a solar crown.

Key 21 - The World represents a culmination stage and subsequent rebirth that may eventually re-activate The Lovers process but at a new level. The World depicts a hermaphrodite symbolising the fusion of both energy polarities. Incidentally the word hermaphrodite is a fusion of Hermes with Aphrodite, symbolic of the male mercurial thinking nature in synergy with the female heart knowing nature. Here we see symbolised the great work attained in the form of an androgyne holding two equal wands, and contained or surrounded by a giant laurel wreathe, indicative of success and completion. The four symbols of the fixed astrological signs speak to something fully stabilised.
Finally…
The Libra Equinox occurring within the influence of a Solar Eclipse in Virgo offers a powerful awakening stimulus, which is part of the current planetary acceleration and ascension. It heralds a 3 month window of significant internal adjustment, realignment and change. The primary outer planets have all gone retrograde driving the energy inward, while 4 Yods also activate internal processes that typically leave us more humbled, since they tend to represent growth processes linked to feeling stuck, blocked or obstructed; the only way forward is through some kind of adaptation, where the ego effectively loses power.
Spiritual alchemical processes are not always easy; they often draw energy inward leaving us with less energy for outer-world engagements. Pluto and Mars are in close last quarter square, adding a degree of crisis to this inner-work picture, and yet we are meant to go deeper at this time; we have to look for causes, and not just fixate on apparent symptoms to our current life issues.
If we are willing to do the inner work this will be a very productive, healing and liberating time.
