Cancer New Moon Forecast '24

new moon, triangle, sea, sand, cancer

Preamble:

The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.

For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aries new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.

At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.

sun, cancer

Following my recent Cancer Solstice forecast covering, for the most part, collective themes and an overview of the longer term patterns influencing the world, this Cancer New Moon forecast will focus more on personal themes for this month. Referencing both forecasts will offer a more nuanced appreciation of the psychic weather, and how personal growth fits into wider collective flows of unfoldment.

Following on from the Gemini New Moon last month, where typically the emphasis included impulses toward new information, learning, study, and social exchange. The Cancer New Moon naturally brings us more in touch with how we feel, with emotional processing, emotional needs, and empathy. Family time may also become more energised during this period and our innate need to belong. Family in this sense can refer to biological family connections, or it can refer to those people in our lives who we have adopted as “family” in some way.

Higher-Self impulses this month will tend to centre around a need to pay closer attention to the emotional body, and if we are the type who likes to avoid emotions through being too busy, then this is an optimum time to find a balance, and take a break from work to enjoy close intimate connections. In the Northern Hemisphere this new moon coincides with the beginning of the summer holiday season, and so the Cancer impulse can more easily be fulfilled.

If new ideas and new information have been happening for you last month, then this is a time to feel into this new input to decide what this means and how you want to proceed in life. With Venus quite close to the New Moon, we can expect this period to be more abundant than usual, where love, art, creativity and enjoyment are heightened. This may also, for some of us, have a more inward aspect to it, as we deal with emotions and feelings and bring them to a more integrated place.

The chart cast for the Cancer New Moon features a Grand Cardinal Square and a Grand Kite aspect, with numerous oppositions making this month's personal growth about balance, objective awareness and emotional integration. Lets take a deeper look at the themes for this lunation...

Emotional engagement and processing is central to personal evolution for the month

woman, pink, crouched

The Grand Cardinal Square strongly energises this lunation with an impulse to either deal with the past or move forward into the future. We may be infused with an impetus to leave past patterns behind and step forward into the unknown. Hand in hand with this process is the integration of past lessons, to find a new balance and to overcome deep seated perceptions, where we feel inadequate in the social arena connected with shaming. If you are feeling bad about aspects of the past, then it's worth considering how this could be linked to early developmental social trauma. Through the emotional process, when we allow ourselves to really feel what we are feeling, we are more able to know who we are, what we want, and what we most need.

The Pholus/Quaoar conjunction in Capricorn is a high frequency “quantum” signature; it represents coherent high frequency transmissions now enveloping the planetary sphere and the bridging of this energy through the body in ways that quicken the release of limitations, negative social conditioning, and all patterns and structures that limit our sense of inner-authority and capacity to self-determine. By extension this inevitably is sending shockwaves through societies throughout the world; the old structures are up for review and we are more than likely moving on to new ways of organising our communities in the longer term. With the new moon in opposition, acting as a liminal gateway for evolution, this lunation is going to be energised with Pholus/Quaoar themes, and thus emotional processing will go hand in hand with the potential release of obsolete patterns and structures (emotional and mental) as a way to liberate and open the way for new self-discoveries and movement into new growth territory on the personal level.

With Salacia in close conjunction this month with the North Node, the goddess of the sea is guiding our way forward. Salacia is in general a benevolent ‘enlightening’ archetype, and as the consort to Neptune, bestows upon us the beneficent assistance of beings in higher dimensions and densities. We shouldn’t be surprised if we receive clearer prompts in regard to where we next need to go. On a collective level, the ongoing Salacia-Quaoar/Pholus square speaks to a profound reorientation to how we structure our reality. Quaoar and Pholus in Capricorn is reflective of an ongoing process of bringing light to the structure of our reality and by extension to the repeating patterns that maintain a world that serves the privileged few at the expense of the many. For example, the structure of war as a pattern that keeps repeating, is now being affected by high frequency energy, raising awareness within the masses toward a critical-mass shift of perception, which will in the end expose those who create war, reveal who benefits, and eventually lead to humanity moving beyond the pattern of war altogether. The same can be said for the financial structure, now compromised by elite cabal banksters, and the shady deals and manipulations within the system are slowly coming to light, such as what the birth certificate really represents (A corporate fictional identity), the money being made from tax skimming, as well as the private ownership of public banks, such as the Federal Reserve and the Bank of Canada. As awareness of these hidden truths gradually seeps into collective awareness, more activism by awakening individuals within the institutions will bring positive changes, correction and reform.

The Cardinal Grand Square is not necessarily easy; its imbued with stress and tension, which generally serves to move us forward in some way. We may feel challenged this month to take a step or two, or to jump into something we have been putting off, but in some way many of us will feel moved to progress, and this will be a good thing.

Challenging new information may bring needed change

man, brain, key, cogs, clouds

This month Mercury in Leo is in a full phase opposition to Pluto in Aquarius, and typically this can out-picture as new information coming in from the outside (via someone else) that in turn triggers new awareness that brings change. With Jupiter in Gemini making a trine to Pluto, we can benefit from a healthy dose of supportive intuition to help us navigate and make sense of things. If you find yourself challenged by what someone tells you this month, just bear in mind that truth is truth even if we don't want to hear it, so don't shoot the messenger, but instead discern the true signal from any noise within any incoming information, knowing that someone else's perspective can only ever represent a partial perception of what is true. Sometimes we need messengers to stimulate personal awareness.

Healing process continues to be a theme

female, aura, tree

Chiron and Hygeia in Aries (both archetypes connected to holistic healing) are in hard aspect to both Typhon in Scorpio and Venus in Cancer. Chiron and Hygeia have both been active over the last few months as they have recently been triggered by the lunar North Node, highlighting holistic healing as an important co-factor during these times. Hygeia, the goddess of wellbeing, is now in a new phase conjunction with Chiron, and this means she is rebirthing and initiating a new cycle in the sign of Aries, which effectively amplifies the theme of new developments. Collectively we can expect the age-old indigenous natural healing wisdom to be pushing back against the hegemony of Big Pharma, as well as pioneering into new areas. As we begin to study medicinal herbs more seriously, we are now understanding the power of plant polyphenols in preventative health as well as chronic health conditions.

An inconjunct to Typhon in Scorpio, suggests that we now need to integrate the psycho-emotional aspects of illness and move toward a more complete holistic paradigm; we are moving away from the use of herbal medicines in an allopathic sense i.e. taking a herb to combat a specific issue like Echinacea for the common cold, and instead evolving toward a much more nuanced and cooperative multi-elemental approach to health and wellbeing, which includes not just the physical aspect of illness, but more readily integrates the emotional, mental and spiritual aspects as well. In this way, I suspect plant-medicine is moving toward an approach that includes communing with the plant, imbibing the plant, and learning from the plant.

Venus is in a square to Chiron, while part of a Grand Water Trine with Pallas, Typhon, Nessus and Saturn. Venus in Cancer implies a deep internal emotional awareness, which is tapping into the inherent pathos associated with the patriarchal distortion (another core collective pattern slowly being unravelled), while also tapping into the maelstrom of collective displaced Shadow energy. This Grand Trine is both amplified and is perhaps too easy. For some of us, the issue of collective pain and suffering might feel too much to bear - how much should we tune into the collective pain-body, and how much should we work toward dealing with our own pain? Pallas-Athene is a useful ally in this regard. She is close to Typhon in Scorpio, and yet as an archetype, she is better able to maintain integrity within challenging and powerful psychic energies. As such she is a guiding force that can help us navigate the healing process, and help us discern what is ours to process from what is not. In this regard we must pay attention to the gentle inner voice of guidance.

On a personal level, the need to heal may become more salient this month, as we engage our emotions more, and we may find ourselves taking action toward that end as a result. Healing isn’t about being broken or sick, healing is really about finding and maintaining balance. In a world that is in flux, we are all finding it hard to stay in equilibrium. Our modern lifestyles are deeply out of balance; too much stimulus, stress, toxic input and too little self-reflection, nourishment and rest.

On top of that our existing health care system is set up to manage symptoms and knows little about health. The rebirth of Chiron and Hygeia in Aries feels like a godsend - for the new cycle is charged with warrior energy, and it looks like holistic medicine - the original medicine -  is building in momentum and bringing its message of health prevention and health optimisation more and more into the mainstream arena.

Cosmic initiations with the star Sirius

Isis, Sirius, boat , star
Sirius is linked to the goddess Isis

This new moon is exceptional. It occurs in exact conjunction to the star Sirius at 14˚ Cancer. The last time this happened was in 1929, when Sirius was 1˚ off the exact conjunction. Sirius is a significant star because there is some indication that our sun is part of a binary star system and twinned with Sirius. We know from the Dogon tribe in Africa that Earth has connections with off-world beings from Sirius, and so when the new moon in Cancer aligns with Sirius, the suggestion is that new energy connections to star intelligences are born. We can expect some spiritual experiences in the coming months to involve contact with the Sirian star beings, especially for starseed-souls with missions that require activations and assistance from benevolent Sirian groups. Something new is being birthed with regard to how we connect with Sirius collectively and how Sirius relates to human evolution on Earth. The association of Sirius with the Egyptian mother goddess Isis, now activated via the new moon in Cancer, the sign of the mother and the Divine Feminine, is another auspicious sign of the return of the goddess, now reconnecting us to our true spiritual origins and human story. This energy will be amplified further via the upcoming Lion's Gate Portal at the end of July and the following new moon in Leo.

Finally…

Athene, owl, clouds
Pallas Athene ~ Patron of Heroes

With Mars and Pallas in exact opposition, this month will bring awareness and lessons with regard to how we act upon guiding impulses. We are each in our own place with regard to how we relate to the notion of inner-guidance, and so the opportunity here will appear in many forms depending on what we most need to learn. Oppositions tend to manifest adversarial experiences; often something on the outside appears as an obstacle or challenge, which then stimulates new awareness and a call to become more empowered and integrated. Pallas as a feminine archetype, and part of the lost feminine planet of Tiamat (now the asteroid belt), represents a facet of the Divine feminine principle. In myth she is often the ally of the hero e.g. in the Perseus and the Gorgon myth she is a central guiding force within a storyline that aims to resolve aspects of the wounded feminine at play deep within the psyche. The whole issue of the wounded feminine is of course tied to the elevation of the masculine principle expressing as patriarchy. Pallas opposing Mars, on one level, highlights lessons with regard to how we work with masculine and feminine energy. Do we really follow the promptings of the intuitive mind? Or do we ignore these signals and follow short sighted desires instead? The Pallas-Mars opposition forms part of a Grand Kite, tying in the Saturn/Nessus lessons and the New Moon/Venus energy as well. This integration opportunity dovetails with personal patterns of pain and suffering, and is linked directly to the possibility of healing emotional pain through love, art, and relationship. How many actions do we take in life at the behest of unresolved painful past experiences? Are inner guiding messages inviting us to choose another path of action moving forward?

Given that healing is a primary theme at present, I expect for some of us the penny might actually drop, as we really recognise its our time to heal, and that is is no longer appropriate to postpone healing processes. Mars in Taurus teaches us that we can be empowered, and we can overcome painful emotions, and that self-reliant actions are often needed, and that nature is a profound healing ally.
