A note on forecasting:

The aim of forecasting isn’t simply to try and predict what is going to happen; the reader is not meant to be a passive receiver of a "fixed fate", in fact quite the opposite. The nature and purpose of forecasting is to build a living relationship with the archetypal energies in play: as we read, awareness is activated on deep levels that support the way we relate to a changing and dynamic collective field.

A connection is initiated with the living field matrix much like a generous handshake, salutation or greeting. In a sense it is a sacred tending of the spiritual fire; a way we can positively engage the imminence of the field, so that we can prepare and adjust to shifts in the energy around us. Like the strumming of chords on a guitar, we don’t have to remember everything precisely, but instead allow ourselves to be moved and attuned. In this way we already begin to respond even without really knowing. In some instances key themes may sing to us in ways that become more meaningful as the weeks pass and life events unfold.

Preamble:

The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.

For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aries new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.

At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.

To begin with…

tree, roots, hills, moon,sky

The Virgo New Moon serves to stabilise the personal evolutionary spiral after the 2 week eclipse window of field disruption that closed at the beginning of this month; we will now anchor more into the new growth pattern and feel more solid for it.

Virgo is an Earth sign, and the energy moves more inward, calling us to ground the creative initiatory energy of the last Leo New Moon (and solar eclipse), and to take the raw inspirational material that arose during the eclipse window; the clarity or the emotional movement, and to purify it or refine it through either a focus on analysis and self reflection, or through practices and work processes.

  • What inner change has occurred that can now be more clearly understood?

  • How can we take the insights and creative impulses of the Leo lunation as a whole (the last 4 weeks) and put them to practical use in the world?

  • What can now be worked on?

  • What needs attention now?

Typically Virgo energy can bring a degree of internalisation or steady work application toward key areas; we want to see how our creative impulses can be implemented, and to make adjustments along the way if necessary to make things happen.

A Virgo month can also call us to heal and purify on numerous levels, where we feel drawn to optimise areas of life e.g. work, health, or lifestyle. We might be moved to improve diet, attend to symptoms of imbalance like chronic health issues, clean up the house, do a cleansing protocol, or simply knuckle down to get on top of things that need doing.

The chart cast for the Virgo New Moon is charged with numerous oppositions, two Grand Minor Trines, a Yod and a Cardinal Grand Square amping up the field for the coming month, so lets take a deeper dive into the archetypal themes on offer…

New perspectives galvanised by healing processes linked to power and powerlessness
the devil, slaves, throne, mountains, flames, hanged man, tree, clouds, flame hair, scorpio, chiron, Aquarius

Central to this lunation dynamic is a T-Square featuring Chiron in exact opposition to Venus in Scorpio, both in square aspect to Pluto in Aquarius. This tense T-Square is also linked to a Yod aspect featuring Neptune sextile to Sedna with Venus at the apex, and Chiron at the midpoint between the two planets in sextile serves as an activator:

While a T-Square pushes for outer change, a Yod drives for inner adjustment, and together these 2 dynamics reflect inner and outer pressure on the Venus function.

Venus in Scorpio speaks to core essential needs and values in relation to power, powerlessness and transformation, and Chiron, dipping for the first time into Taurus at 0˚, activates healing processes directed at past unresolved experiences where we have felt betrayed, abandoned, abused, or co-dependently enmeshed, due to the distortion of powerlessness.

Chiron initiates movement toward overcoming inner obstacles to self sufficiency and self value, pushing at the core of any deep seated values or traditional structures that cause us to look to others to solve problems instead of finding the answers in ourselves, or conversely causes us to manipulate others for resources we don’t have or think we can generate on our own.

The evolutionary acceleration of Pluto in Aquarius is the underlying driver of our collective process toward greater freedom beyond personal and social limitations, and Pluto’s influence bearing down on both Chiron and Venus indicates how personal inner work around these themes will lead to revelations and sudden shifts of perception that ultimately liberate us to become more.

Venus makes a last quarter square to Pluto, so at the foundation, powerful inner transformations are possible through the release of limiting structures, in particular linked to society, social values and norms etc. The call is to move beyond social structures into a wider more universal value framework; to release values and unhealthy emotional relationship patterns routed in social conditioning and capitulation.

I see this as a potential liberation from what Agnes Callard calls “uni-context”; a new condition of the mind, amplified by technology, that flattens and compresses social norms like values, morals, ethics, and our sense of what is good for us and for others, into a homogenised simplified formula, a sort of one size should fit all approach, to the way we navigate all life experiences.

Callard proposes that the emergent uni-context drives us to focus on the bad things rather than the good things, because bad things are easier to agree on.

In a world immersed in social polarisation and idealogical propaganda (a result of uni-context capture), a new stillness can be found when we empower ourselves to step out of the polarisation field into more coherent states of awareness and being. The barometer of right and wrong, with all its relative and absolute qualities, can be found autonomously from within; we don’t need a dogmatic fixed framework of ideas to guide us.

It is quite possible for significant internal shifts to take place that lead to a more empowered and expansive state of being this month.

A soul initiation opportunity
female figure, gold stairway, stars

The New Moon is in close conjunction to Orcus in Virgo. I most associate Orcus with the archetype of Persephone as a symbol of the soul-initiate; a person who has stepped beyond a sole focus on the worldly onto a path of spiritual development. Initiation into the mysteries of soul happens in stages, but each time it happens our world view is altered; something is given over, and a new life perspective emerges that can’t easily be spoken or shared with others.

The New Moon-Orcus conjunction makes a close trine aspect to Albion in Taurus, and both make sextiles to Mars in Cancer, completing a Grand Minor Trine formation.

For those that are ready, something is being born anew on the path that is not a path. This ‘something’ is being born through the emotional empathic channel; its guiding us to find ‘home’ in a new way; its asking us to move and act in ways that are guided by feeling not thought.

The soul-initiation opportunity is richly informed by Albion as an expansive and optimistic energy toward more spiritual activation. Albion represents the ‘human enterprise’ as the full realisation of what Lisa Renee terms our 12 strand Diamond Sun DNA template; the culmination of our true human potential as multidimensional beings capable of high level ‘God-consciousness’.

This lunation functions as an ascension portal in service to a new level of activation for those coherent and ready.

The birth of a new ascension road map
map, stars, astrology, rainbow energy

A Cardinal Grand Square featuring Quaoar, Saturn, Salacia, Asbolus, Makemake and Logos-Zoë mirrors an ongoing ascension dynamic at a collective level.

High frequency cosmic transmissions both quicken and destabilise global structures and social systems. Old 3D structures are being released, while simultaneously new higher geometry is being accessed by those currently agreeing to evolve through their ascension spiral. At some point in the process, new higher octave maps must emerge; progress gives rise to new frameworks of understanding our personal process that encompass more universal and cosmological symbols and language. Asbolus in Cancer represents this potential coming through the feminine mode; feeling, sensitivity, subtle energy, and empathy.

Included in this new map are elements of our lost human story; who we are, how we evolved, the numerous genetic interventions in the past, our connections to star lineages, the knowledge and wisdom of past golden ages and so on. The past however is not going to repeat itself, but is modulated through the integrative influence of Logos-Zoë and the embodiment of what I call Christ-Sophia consciousness, or the ‘middle path’. The low frequency shadow aspects of the ancient past must be resolved through alchemical and integrative inner work.

This new road map is individual as it should be; I’m not saying there is going to emerge just one unified way of navigating ascension, but rather that each one of us can begin to anchor in the map we most need now. This feels like a ‘download’ opportunity interlinked with soul-initiation within the larger context of an epochal planetary shift.

Grand Squares are stressful and serve to develop self-mastery; they require us to work actively on 4 or more inner aspects at the same time, a bit like spinning plates; there is a need to attend to each aspect in a recursive or cyclical way. Most of the archetypes involved are higher-octave, leaving just Saturn in Aries to act as an anchor into our personal manifest reality field. This feels like high-frequency pressure to break out of old systems and structures in order to establish new inner structures for the new higher octave geometry.

Saturn is supported by Jupiter and Varuna in harmonious trine: we can move through the vibrational chaos of radical frequency change quite safely if we trust our intuitive capacity linked to the heart-mind awareness. A new level of mastery and self-actualisation can be attained when we flow with the shifting structures of our personal reality through cultivating a steady intuitive connection with the higher-self.

Let your inner world change
hand, heart, gold glow, Venus, snake

As the first new moon after the recent field adjustments triggered by the eclipses, the chart mirrors some powerful evolutionary opportunities. While there is evolutionary movement in numerous aspects of self, my sense is that Venus is the arena for most change this month. Her conjunction with Haumea in Scorpio speaks powerfully to deep inner transformations fuelled by spiritual shifts and soul activations.

We will probably feel the most change through Venus, as the way we connect to ourselves as ensouled spiritual beings enters a new level of experience, one that is deeper, more self empowered, more perceptive, intense and potentially cathartic. An inner death may occur this month, and for some this might feel life-changing. Values may shift, core needs may be revealed, and new inner resources may emerge as we prepare for a new level of presence and embodiment  in the coming months.

We have the benefit of a supportive Grand Air Kite featuring Pluto, Mercury, Sedna and Uranus, with Neptune as the activator: spiritual insights will flow, new perspectives with transformative power will easily emerge, and we might be moved to share our new insights with others as a way to get feedback on personal growth.

Overall I like the dynamism of the New Moon chart, and while it may throw up a lot of things to process and deal with, there is great potential here to level up and build new growth pathways.
