Taurus New Moon Forecast 2025

bull, stars, taurus, moon

Preamble:

The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.

For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aries new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.

At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.

To begin with...

The New Moon in the 8th degree of Taurus initiates seed impulses that draw us inward to evaluate core essential needs. This is a month to slow down, get grounded and connected to nature and to become more internalised as we come back to ourselves, as part of a natural balance after the more outward and dynamic Aries process last month. The onus is on grounding and anchoring the new energy for the evolving growth year.

The key theme of the 8th degree of Taurus is the value of preparing for the future, so that we are ready to use existing knowledge and skills/resources to meet the demands of a stage of development yet to come. Part of this months internal reflection is to relax into the steady natural way that life unfolds for us. Perhaps we don’t need to try quite so hard; sometimes we can get in the way of our own process of unfoldment!

This lunation is strongly tied to the high-frequency transmissions affecting collective consciousness, via a trine to Quaoar, Pholus and Ixion; there is an open channel to spiritual development that’s going to touch more into the shadow side of things as we progress.

With a Grand Fire Trine, a Yod, a T-Square and a fair few oppositions, the chart for the Taurus New Moon is quite dynamic this month, with increased challenge, and integration themes. Lets take a closer look at the growth themes on offer this lunation…

A new spiritual way

rainbow sun

Neptune has now begun his ingress into Aries, which will take until early 2026 to complete. This will coincide with a striking Neptune/Saturn conjunction at 0˚ Aries, an event, which has not happened for at least 12,000 years (according to the research of astrologer Pam Gregory). This spectacular concordance of energy is yet another symbol heralding this time as pivotal in the way humanity is evolving into something new.

Saturn represents space-time reality, the realm of the finite, the tangible and the limited, while Neptune represents the ineffable, the non-tangible eternal spiritual realms, and these two planetary archetypes come together at the 1st degree of Aries, which is known in astrology as the “Aries point”, a particularly potent and sensitive ‘gateway’ that can birth something very new into the world.

This lunation, Neptune is in exact sextile to Sedna both at 0˚ of a sign, and they form a Yod with Haumea at the apex. This is to say that a new spiritual way, now beginning to initiate into the world, is directly linked to the integration of the masculine and feminine energy flows, leading to new levels of awareness and understanding (Sedna in Gemini), which channels energy toward deep and potent renewal, healing, metamorphosis and regeneration of our world.

Less than a year from now, Saturn makes conjunction with Neptune,  suggesting both collective and universal energy impulses having a significant impact on our sense of what is real, and by extension to all our existing structures such as society, culture, values and so on. This conjunction could also represent the birth of an expanded spiritual awareness that alters the way we engage and relate to the domain of the 5 senses, which in turn could birth an entirely new spiritual system through which humanity can evolve.

It would be remiss of me to imply that this will solely coincide with the blooming of a ‘love & light’ collective awakening. Neptune in Aries may indeed give rise to a wake up call for the masses to change, but this wake up call may come through religious or idealistic warfare. In mundane (worldly) astrology, Neptune tends to collectively represent where we focus our ideals and what we look to for redemption, salvation or transcendence. For example when Neptune was in Capricorn 1984-1998 we looked to big business and corporations to solve our problems. When Neptune was in Aquarius 1998-2011 we looked to technology to save us, while we also saw a rise in progressive ideologies such as Woke to make the world a better place. From 2011-2025 when Neptune was in Pisces there has been a rapid rise of interest in modern spirituality, and we have tended to idealise relativity, while blurring the boundaries between the sexes and between truth and fiction, as if we have been trying to run away from the global meaning crisis through confusion, addiction and self-deception. We do seem to be emerging out of a post-truth era of lies, fake news, intensified propaganda (especially legacy media) and global scale disillusionment. Neptune in Pisces has also amplified the tendency for projection, which has exacerbated social division as each side projects their unconscious fears and judgements onto the other side.

I suspect that we are going to see some idealogical movements reaching fever pitch in the early years of Neptune in Aries, as we collectively process and transcend the need to rely on warfare to solve our problems.

Initiation and the process of individuation

tree, arch, stain-glass

The archetype of Chiron is directly linked to initiation and individuation, a process that involves the incremental alignment of the ego with the Higher-Self. Chiron has been in a close conjunction with Eris for a while now in Aries, and Aries is a key sign for initiation into new growth territory. Eris is a dwarf planet with a long orbital period of 559 years, which means she journeys much further away from the sun than the personal planets; she connects us with the area of the solar system known as the scattered disc; an area characterised by a more chaotic unpredictable part of space.

Chiron is not a planet as such but a “centaur”; in astronomy a centaur is a small solar system body whose orbit crosses the orbits of other planets, making centaur energy a bridge between different aspects of the psyche, and thus allowing the integration process toward wholeness to occur. Chiron then, is acting as a conveyor for the delivery of Eris energy, which is to say that this partnership is helping us access lost aspects of ourselves (and collectively of the human story and human potential) in order to initiate into new levels of awareness and growth.

The process of individuation is one of surrender and alignment, to eventually accept the task laid upon us by nature, where we voluntarily submit to the Self, or in religious terms we submit to the will of God.

This lunation, Chiron and Eris form the apex of another Yod, this time with Typhon & Juno sextile to the lunar South Node. The key teaching of Chiron is that the individuation process is innately linked to personal trauma and deep wounding; it is through the pain that we are stimulated to seek wholeness.

wave, cyclone, typhon

Typhon is a chaos archetype, and while he is in Scorpio, he is energising the release of chaos forces, either from the Shadow, or from the depths of soul. Typhon’s purpose is to challenge the status quo; to test us as we meet aspects of ourselves we may have no sense of connection with, and in the end leave us altered, stronger and more integrated.

Juno is a key archetype for the feminine principle, and she is associated with commitment. These two archetypes are now in a harmonious sextile to the South Node in Virgo, and trine to the North Node in Pisces, which means they are activating evolutionary impetus, influencing how we move away from the past into the future, or more precisely how we liberate from past patterns in order to more fully embrace new possibilities in the future.

This could be a challenging month: chaos elements pertaining to the past may be putting us under internal pressure to heal the male-female split. Some potent emotional energy may arise out of nowhere in our personal process. For some this may be the rage felt by women throughout the world, as we transition out of an epoch of patriarchy; for others it may feel like being engulfed with the shadow aspects of the inner feminine expressing as  futility, depression, loss, unworthiness, guilt or despondency.

boy, maze, earthquake

Above all we are being asked to yield to the natural unfolding process of individuation, and that might show up as a literal healing crisis, or simply a feeling of being blocked or stifled. Becoming aware of our wounds, naturally activates an internal pressure, which can be hard to live with. The temptation is to project them outward onto others, and we might get pulled into struggles to heal and resolve collective issues, as a vicarious attempt to heal our own issues.

We are in a time where the disruption of society can be seen as a ‘collective initiatory process’, what we might think of as a collective dark night of the soul. We are seeing powerful eruptions out of the Shadow, which now compel us to grow up and individuate. If we want to heal our fractured and traumatised societies, we can only do this by becoming less fractured and traumatised at the individual level; this is why personal healing and integration is a significant contribution to the world.

Typhon and Juno give me a sense of how we might choose to be more committed to the shadow-work because of the future rewards it promises. Typhon is also trine to the North Node, Saturn and Venus in Pisces, so these chaos shadow eruptions all around the world serve to help us dissolve the old structures, move on from the death throes of patriarchy rooted in the momentum of the past, while rebirthing into a new universalised, compassionate and heart centred way of being. As more of us do this, the rebirth of the lost feminine moves through us, emanating in our everyday lives and altering reality little by little.

clover leaf

Through Chiron we are offered a route to a new level of synthesis, which is amplified by a Grand Fire Trine with ‘celestial’ Varda and ‘solar’ Praamzius. A Fire Trine adds a lot of energy for creative movement, and both Varda and Praamzius are also channeling into the Chiron process that calls us to heal, initiate and integrate in ways that bring more coherence to the field.

Praamzius in Leo is energising the signalling coming from the Self (the Divine essence within all beings), and he is also the apex of a T-Square with Uranus and Hygeia opposing Typhon and Juno. So while chaotic shadow eruptions arise within or in the outer world, they are linked to the liberation of consciousness through integral ways of living and being (Uranus and Hygeia); in essence shadow aspects stimulate us to wake up, and this tension is leading us more and more to the Self. Through the still point of the Self, all inner conflicts can be resolved and brought to peace.

This month an emphasis on shadow-work

faceless figure, cloaked, mirror

While shadow-work may be ongoing for all of us, there are periods where it is symbolically emphasised in the charts, and this month we have shadow archetypes in key aspects to the New Moon: Ixion in exact trine to the New Moon, Gonggong in close sextile to the New Moon, and Dark Moon Lilith in close opposition to the New Moon.

With 3 shadow archetypes in close aspect to the New Moon, it imprints this lunar energy wave with more activated shadow elements. Ixion represents the path of self interest at the expense of others, and in collective terms we are seeing this clearly exposed within top down hierarchical systems, most notably in the recent exposure by DOGE of flagrant mis-use of government funds in the billions.

Ixion is currently retrograde, so on the personal level we may see parts of our process concerned with the release of conditioned patterns that drive us to be too self-serving or competitive. In the culture wars context, how much of what we think is true and right is but a mere product of social conditioning? In a world of division, are we really 100% sure that our position on anything is better than someone else’s? This month there may be some rapid inner realisations.

Gonggong in Pisces makes a crescent sextile to the New Moon in Taurus, and collective chaos disruptions will contribute to the way we process energy this month. This will depend greatly on the vibration we are operating from, and how we view current events; for some the world may look like it's in dire straights, while for others there is a glimmer of hope.

Dark Moon Lilith in Scorpio close to Haumea (trine to Gonggong) poses an integration challenge this month:

  • Do we really have the personal power to overcome patterns of conditioning?

  • Will we put more effort into transformative process?

  • Are we truly willing to die and be reborn again at a new level?

  • Or are we simply going to resort to more manipulation, power grabbing or down right vendetta?

Dark Moon Lilith always shows us where the antics of a weak ego are going to show up, and it guides us to put gentle effort with patience in key areas. We should be prepared to go deeper if necessary, to let go if necessary, and to cut through to deeper truth if necessary.

Ego versus Soul

lotus flame

Pluto is opposed by Mars in Leo this month, and the opposition is in a loose T-Square with the New Moon. Oppositions always reflect a struggle or challenge and a need to integrate and get the balance right; sometimes outer forces appear to test us. At a deeper level the Pluto-Mars opposition indicates a battle of wills between ego and soul; our current life situation may feel at times frustrating and unbearable, where we chafe at the bit and long to make strides and get gratifying results. Yet Pluto (soul) is by far the more powerful archetype and so the lessons will be about ego yielding to the momentum of the soul’s evolutionary intent. If we find ourselves at odds with the path of unfolding, we are better served when we realise the futility of fighting against soul lessons. If we are more aligned with soul, then we may instead find ourselves trying to get the balance right, and learning to act only when the time is right and not before.

Pluto and Mars in opposition generate a great deal of energy, and we can expect there to be more polarisation at the collective level. That means we may find ourselves in conflict challenges. This impulsive amplified energy may be a challenge to work with, given the New Moon in Taurus, since Taurus can take the personal process deep and slow.

This month is a good time to reflect on the nature of soul, what the soul level feels like to you, how it compares to the ego and sense of identity, and to bring more awareness to the dynamic between ego and soul within you. If your current desires are not true to the soul level of your being, then part of your process may be to bring more awareness to this aspect of your life. To determine if your desires are true of false ask yourself the following questions:

  • Is what I want an attempt at solving a perceived problem?

  • Does my desire impulse reverberate deep within me?

False desires always arise as an ego drive toward solutions based on ego perception. In this way, false desires deny true growth and evolution and tend toward short term gratification. They don’t address the causes; a limited ego viewpoint on things strives to fix things rather than learn soul lessons. True desires are always in accordance with the soul; they are the soul’s way of communicating with the ego awareness - they endure over time, and are often not on the top ten list of “ego wants”; they are more than likely going to lead us away from our idea of what a life should look like.

The possibility of profound new understanding

head, face, gold light

Mercury is in exact conjunction with Salacia in Aries, and Icarus is close by, while also opposing Logos-Zoë and Makemake. Mercury is also square to Quaoar and Pholus in Capricorn.

Mercury most reliably symbolises left-brain function; how we think in linear logical ways; how we communicate; how we measure the observable aspects of reality. When paired with Salacia there is the possibility of higher dimensional communication with spiritual teachers; we may experience sudden breakthroughs in understanding personal issues or questions. The kind of guidance on offer will dovetail with the new high frequencies coming in, as well as the awakening of the Christ-Sophia ascension process.

When taken together with the Grand Fire Trine, there is fair opportunity to elevate to new levels of insight if we choose.

With Icarus featuring in the equation, this could go in two ways:

  • Spiritual guides and teachers may impart information that calls us to make a descent into shadow-work in order to begin or continue the integration of the Divine Masculine and Feminine as we move toward Christ-Sophia consciousness.

  • Guides and teachers may assist us in reaching higher-states of awareness, even if just briefly, where we receive more detailed information about our spiritual purpose or future role.

Finally…

The nodal axis now in Pisces/Virgo puts an evolutionary focus on key lessons connected to discernment, healing, and optimisation, as well as lessons connected to spiritual development, patterns of addiction and projection. Care should be taken to make sure that we stay real with life events, really think things through in a reasoned and discerning way, without resorting to harsh criticism of self or other, while being mindful of any tendency to project the best or the worst onto a person or situation; there is a danger of unrestrained projections at this time - either to crucify and vilify others or to rose tint them as saviours or heroes.

altar, meditator, scales, sword, brain, moon, heart, mountains, sun

Jupiter now moving into square to the nodes highlights how beliefs and conditioned biases may need to be brought into the light of objective awareness. If we remain blind to personal beliefs and biases any attempts at sense making will be limited and suboptimal.

Many people are either caught up in overthinking things, or utterly convinced by one version of the truth. There is a sense here that we may be collectively moving out of postmodernism toward a more integral way of being, which is to say that we make better sense of things when we question everything, including ourselves, remain open and neutral, while reaching for a balanced and integrated appreciation of the world around us.
