Preamble:
The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.
For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aires new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.
At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.
Overview:
This New Moon in Sagittarius kicks off a new sub-cycle within the greater lunar cycle that began with the Aires New Moon last May 2022. The last New Moon, which was also a Solar Eclipse in Scorpio initiated a death-rebirth process, calling for deep change and renewal as we cast off old inner identities to make way for who we are becoming. For some, the last few months may well have been testing and cathartic. In my own life, several members of my community network found themselves challenged with health issues last month, while some are in the midst of reinventing their lives. This fiery New Moon will call us to birth new meaning, life direction, purpose and personal truth as we leave old versions of reality behind. Perhaps we have been shedding long dead stories from years ago, or maybe we have been shocked or pleasantly surprised by new information that has changed our frame of reality.
This ‘birthing’ of aspiration, through Sagittarius, for greater understanding, lies cradled in existing archetypal themes, which have been in play for some months now:
The ongoing Pluto/Eris square, which has been driving much of the chaos and energising a movement toward justice and equity against the existing patriarchal top down structures and corrupt players within it, is now slowly diminishing, but we will continue to experience its intensity at least until next spring, when Pluto finally makes his first ingress into Aquarius since 1777.
The Ixion/Manwë square on the world-axis will continue for some time yet, representing the battle between the old elite systems and the new humanitarian ones emerging through Manwë’s visionary capacity to create a better world for everyone, and a rising insurgence against corruption in the halls of power.
Uranus conjunct the North Node of the Moon has been shaking things up so that more and more can awaken from their socially engineered world-perception, and begin to open up to new ideas and values as we collectively move forward.
So now that we are getting more familiar with the newly initiated Scorpio Solar Eclipse energy wave (last month) let's have a deeper look at what this Sagittarius New Moon has to offer us both personally and collectively.

note: there are other aspects used in astrology such as sextiles and septiles, but for collective forecasts I tend to focus on the harder aspects in the main as these initiate change and are more readily perceived.
The birth of new inner-truth and new ways of making sense of things through intuition.
With the New Moon forming part of a stellium in Sagittarius with both Mercury and Venus, the ongoing evolutionary theme correlating to expanding awareness, initiated already in December 2021 (with the last Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius), continues at the forefront of this lunation, as we move forward and try to make sense of the tests, challenges and intensity of the Scorpio Solar Eclipse so far and as it unfolds over the next 5 months. After the death of an old way (in whichever way this has played out for us individually) we must all inevitably rebirth through renewed meaning and purpose.
Through Sagittarius we can expect higher-self impulses to initiate new awareness and understanding about pertinent life issues and patterns at the individual level. Whatever the challenges thrown up by the Scorpio Eclipse may have been, they have set the scene for greater understanding to emerge; it is often through life’s grit that we are stimulated to seek answers, and with Mercury in Sagittarius as well, new information will be a contributing factor to expanded awareness.
The Grand Trine with the Sagittarius stellium, Salacia, Chiron and Varuna generates an amplified open channel, especially to information from higher dimensions in accordance with natural law principles, dovetailed with healing processes; new awareness can be initiated, which will have a far reaching affect on our sense of inter-connection with the greater cosmos, which in turn will feed positively into resolving deep seated personal wounding, connected in particular with the mis-use of masculine energy, boundary violation, violence, war and rape. Chiron making an inconjunct with the Lunar South Node emphasises a global level inquiry into the mis-use of power and its damaging effects on innocent people. Will sociopaths with wealth and status finally be put in prison for crimes they have committed over many years?
The New Moon is opposed by Sedna and Mors-Somnus conjunct in Taurus, perhaps presenting us with a bittersweet sensation, as we awaken to new truths only to realise just how asleep and stupefied we have been, as well as violated and victimised. Mors-Somnus is a binary celestial body named after the deities of death and sleep; for some the coming month could be experienced as an intuitive push to break free from the controlled narrative that cultivates ignorance in the masses. We may have to come to terms with just how angry and violated we feel, especially if we succumbed to the pressures to take the jab, blissfully ignorant of its experimental status and the dangers it presented.
The plight of the victim may also be a highlighted theme this month, especially those whose survival is threatened, and whose bodies have been violated e.g. sexually or through vaccine injury. Dr John Campbell's recent vlog post on excess deaths both world-wide and in the UK shows that since the beginning of Covid, excess deaths (beyond the 5 year average) have been rising, are now significantly high, and are in fact higher with non-covid related deaths than they were at the height of Covid in 2021. In the Uk for example back in 2020 there were only about 315 excess deaths (above the 5 year average) per week. In 2021 this had increased to around 1322 excess deaths per week. Currently in 2022 the excess death number is higher still at around 1800 per week, which is over 90,000 excess deaths per year. Of note, the covid vaccine program began in Jan 2021, and since that time many people have had between 2 and 4 booster jabs. The most striking excess death statistic is related to heart failure deaths, which affects the entire population including children, with the most excess deaths occurring in the 25-49 age group; heart failure related death is significantly on the rise. These are UK stats, but we can assume similar numbers in most western countries.

In one, a woman who had just had a booster died suddenly in mid sentence, while talking with her husband. Very sad to read.
Spiritual Awakening as a way forward
The stellium in Sagittarius with the New Moon, Venus and Mercury speaks to the development of emergent personal truth, which is juxtaposed by a stellium in Pisces featuring Neptune, Jupiter, Manwë and Vesta (among others). Pisces is the archetype through which we become spiritually aware, and to be spiritually aware is to be consciously connected to the subtle dimensions of existence; to be aware of one’s internal reality and how it fits into a greater cosmological whole. The general square relationship between Sagittarius and Pisces may however throw up a challenge and we could get mired in confusion not knowing what is true.
Vesta in particular forms a very close square with the New Moon implying that any new way of perceiving reality, whether that be the world at large, or whether it be more specifically about how we view a person or ourselves, also challenges us to dip into a much larger context of meaning that is typically associated with spiritual values and ideals.
Vesta in the 1st degree of Pisces points the way forward; we must tend to our inner spiritual life with care and diligence as a way to mitigate the potential crises often induced when confronted with truths and the exposure of lies. Without engaging the transcendent, there is a good chance some of us will be plummeted into despair, futility and despondency as previously veiled elements of reality become more salient and real. For those not willing to engage life at the spiritual level, the tendency will be towards avoidance through substance use (drugs or alcohol) or binge watching, and yet Vesta can guide us to find personal solutions to a world in crisis, through getting involved with others socially in spiritual ways, in order to find mutual support networks. For some this may mean getting hands on involved with charity work, for others it will be meditation groups or satsangs, and for others still there may be a draw toward solitary prayer, contemplation or ceremony.
The Uranus/North Node conjunction in Taurus continues to stimulate shocks and liberation as the way we move forward; somehow while all this is happening we must get more grounded and real with the basic necessities of life. This is not a time for grandiose plans and creative ambitions; right now the task is to slow down and build a firm foundation. Given that the Scorpio Solar Eclipse has ignited a great deal of transformative energy, we can assume that we must attend to laying down a new inner foundation for what is meant for us in the time to come. Don’t be too disturbed if things have stopped making any sense, and don’t worry too much if you’ve lost life direction, as deep change is occurring for many on the planet right now, and there is a focus on purging redundant patterns to make space for new ways of being. We have something good to look forward to, but my sense is that we won’t catch a whiff of what this might be until January next year at the earliest.
The nodes dovetail in resonant harmony with Orcus in Virgo opposing Nessus in Pisces, suggesting that all the foundation work centres around deep self inquiry and an emergent path of service, while we move into compassion and process personal pain and or psychic toxins from past traumatic events. And the Chiron/Logos-Zöe opposition also strumming off the nodes, highlights the potent integrative alchemical opportunity for the spiritual seeker to self-initiate into profound new personal truths that can alter one’s life direction.
Light Transmissions induce cellular mutation and DNA activation
The Stellium in Capricorn of Quaoar, Pholus and Ixion is a key feature of the current world evolutionary picture, which I will cover in more detail in the soon to come December Solstice Forecast, but I will speak to it a little here in the context of cosmic rays and their affect on the planet and those who dwell therein.
This is a powerful time. The electromagnetic field of the planet has been dropping more and more (it is currently around 25% less than in recent years), and thus the protective field of the Earth now weakening, is letting a lot more gamma radiation in from the Cosmos. This is affecting consciousness and it is also more than likely affecting DNA expression and could be causing DNA activation or mutation. The Heart Math Institute have shown that DNA responds to light, and the more sensitive among us appear to pick up on the new potent energies coming into the planetary sphere at this time.
Pholus being a type of celestial body designated a ‘centaur’ speaks to the bridging of worlds and realities. His orbit connects the space-time dimension of Saturn with the dimensional realms of both Neptune (spirit) and Pluto/Orcus (soul). To bridge worlds is an act of reconnection, and all the centaur archetypes are anchored into the physical body and process through the body. The Pholus/Quaoar relationship as they journey together, for the most part within just 1˚, reflects the strong transmissions of Source Light Energy causing the ascension process through the body physical. Ixion also in close contact with these two archetypes highlights the connection between the ascension process and the releasing of low vibrational patterns from the energy field, indicating a close relationship between a general rise in vibration, in conjunction with integrative shadow-work. For many the shadow will appear in their outer world before it can be tracked inwardly; if the chaos and uncertainty is getting you down, just remember that freedom can be found within when we liberate from the mental chains that keep us thinking in negative or limited ways.
Now that all three archetypes have entered Capricorn, the emphasis of this ongoing process (which began already in 2008) now fully shifts into the transmutation of crystallised energy patterns, and the earthy nature of the sign grounding much of this process into the body. Prior to this, the process was active through Sagittarius, where much of the energetic shift has been happening in our collective awareness, activation of the right-brain, and changes in belief patterns etc. The transition into Capricorn began around 2019, and its interesting to note that a novel corona virus emerged in the world at the same moment Quaoar and Pholus had both just entered Capricorn and were conjunct on the world-axis, making their influence very strong on world events.
My proposition in this observation is to suggest that irrespective of whether Covid 19 is a ‘gain of function’ virus (artificially augmented and enhanced in a lab) it nevertheless plays an active role in the evolution of consciousness on the planet. The predominant paradigm, which embraces Germ Theory as a fact, and thus rigidly positions viruses as dangerous pathogens isn’t necessarily accurate or complete. A complimentary approach called Terrain Theory proposes that viruses only activate in the body when the conditions of the body allow - this alternative view accepts the possibility that there may be a cooperative relationship between what we normally categorise as pathogens and the body-milieu-intelligence. Could viruses, which have been around long before the first complex biological organisms evolved, have a role in upgrading the physical body in relation to changes in the biosphere, induced by cosmic light radiation coming in?
Overall this lunation should bring a lighter note to the intense Scorpio transformative energies currently in play, offering not so much a respite from the burden of so much inner work, but nevertheless infusing us with new aspirations, optimism and intuitive impulses that can make our deep transformations easier to bear.
The Grand Fire Trine will perhaps soften some of the intensity if we are willing to align with the higher frequencies, which have a lot to offer in terms of opening us up to new intuitive awareness with direct effects on our internal personal reality and the way we organise our thoughts and ideas. Sagittarius is always uplifting and optimistic, which for many will be a welcome relief, perhaps invigorating us to continue with focus on essential inner work in the months ahead.
