A note on forecasting:

The aim of forecasting isn’t simply to try and predict what is going to happen; the reader is not meant to be a passive receiver of a "fixed fate", in fact quite the opposite. The nature and purpose of forecasting is to build a living relationship with the archetypal energies in play: as we read, awareness is activated on deep levels that support the way we relate to a changing and dynamic collective field.

A connection is initiated with the living field matrix much like a generous handshake, salutation or greeting. In a sense it is a sacred tending of the spiritual fire; a way we can positively engage the imminence of the field, so that we can prepare and adjust to shifts in the energy around us. Like the strumming of chords on a guitar, we don’t have to remember everything precisely, but instead allow ourselves to be moved and attuned. In this way we already begin to respond even without really knowing. In some instances key themes may sing to us in ways that become more meaningful as the weeks pass and life events unfold.

Preamble:

The new moon can be thought of as a window in time when the Higher-Self initiates specific lessons or personal growth intentions for the coming month, and we can use the lunar cycle as a way of decoding evolutionary forces at a more granular level than the solar cycle or the transits of the slower moving planets.

For the spiritually minded person, the new moon is a time to receive the seed impulses for one’s personal evolution, and specifically those impulses toward bringing something new into conscious awareness. Each moon cycle fits into a larger cycle, which begins at the Aries new moon, and if you seriously want to track the unfolding pattern of higher-self guidance, it is a really good idea to record a log or journal of key messages and impressions received in the few hours before and after the new moon, roughly 4-5 hours on either side. During this window of time, make space to be more meditative and pay attention to your thoughts, inspirations, psychic messages and so on, as these will tend to correspond to the archetype the new moon is birthing in at the time, and correlate to the growth themes we are meant to work with during the month.

At some point in time (after a few months) you can look through your log and begin to see a key pattern unfolding, which can stimulate further insight in terms of life purpose.

To begin with…

The Pisces New Moon is the last lunation of the yearly new moon cycle, and it always has a quality of culmination about it; its a time to release completed growth lessons, while also opening up to new information that will help us attune to the new cycle and what is intended for us over the coming year, starting with the following New Moon in Aries a month later.

The energy of new beginnings however will be active to some degree much sooner because this Pisces New Moon occurs just a day before the March Equinox, when the Sun makes his annual ingress into Aries the sign of new beginnings.

This month we may once again feel like we are working on releasing the old and welcoming in the new, because the chart features a stellium of planets in both Pisces the sign of completion, and Aries the sign of initiation. I say ‘again’ because this straddling of the old and new has been a recurrent theme in the last 3 or so years. All I can say is that we are slowly getting there, as momentum continually builds toward new realities.

The Pisces New Moon is typically a month when we are drawn more inward into our feeling nature, where we are more likely to tune into the bigger picture, and dream, imagine and vision quest for a sense of meaning and direction. We might feel inspired by an ideal or symbol that we can move toward, or we might be converging inwardly at the still-point as inner growth processes culminate, and when deeper more universal understandings are more available than usual.

This is a month when we are more sensitive than usual, and more moved by unseen forces; touched by the spirit-worlds, and more connected to past, present and future. Inner-guidance might feel more clear and lucid, and we might feel drawn to make more space for the numinous.

While the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries still strongly influences this new moon chart, a fixed Grand Square adds a touch of challenge and resistance as we endeavour to move forward as we are meant to. Lets take a deeper look at the archetypal themes on offer this month…

Spiritual messages and inspired action
female, galaxy, code

This lunation, Mercury makes an exact conjunction to the lunar North Node, while Mars is just 4˚ away, highlighting an emphasis on heightened receptivity to spiritual messages that help us move forward in life, in ways that bring us into more wholeness through forgiveness and compassion if necessary.

The coming 4 weeks is a time when giving space for more stillness, contemplation and meditation will reward us with clear mystical insight about our place within the scheme of things, as well as  premonitions and visions that prepare us for the next steps in our personal lives.

Action taking may also feel more inspired as we learn to flow more with the energies, and for some of us this inspired action taking will have a somewhat idealistic gait.

The seeding of new realities

The significant Neptune-Saturn conjunction, which has been active over the last 12 months, has finally reached exact conjunction and now moved into the new phase. The new phase of any cycle is likened to sowing the seeds of experiences that will manifest later on. This means that old realities will continue to dissolve, while we also receive the new seed impulses that will lead us into new growth territory in the coming years. We are entering a time of inspired expansion.

This month there is an emphasis of planetary energy in both Pisces (the last sign) and Aries (the first sign) so working with both the release of the old and the cultivation of the new will be part of the way.

Saturn’s recent ingress into Aries (for the next 36 months) marks a change in the way we mature as a species. Many will be moved to stand for something in the next few years, and where confusion may have derailed any ability to take responsibility, now the lessons of passion, assertion, and breaking out of old patterns into new ones will lead us to make bold and sometimes spontaneous decisions. Saturn in Aries is here to teach us about the power of desire and will, with the onus on responsible rather than impetuous action taking.

Dark impulses brought to heel on the planet
gold angel, sword

Typhon, now in early Sagittarius, opposes Sedna in Gemini, while trine to the Neptune/Saturn conjunction in Aries; Typhon is also trine to the New Moon itself. Typhonic energy tends to challenge the status quo at any level, stirring up all the repressed or hidden issues, and now in particular those issues pertaining to what we believe and what we think is true. We are entering a time when belief structures may be powerfully challenged and tested, superseded or shattered altogether.

Whenever Neptune and Saturn come together in the sky, once every 36 years, there tends to be an unveiling of the hidden, often linked to secret societies and groups brought into the light. When this happens these secret groups can be shut down.

Ixion at 8˚ Capricorn is now in exact trine to the South Node, while inconjunct to Varda in Leo, and square to Manwë and Salacia in Aries. Ixion currently represents criminality within institutions and the corporate sector (those with social status and power), and while Ixion trines the South Node we can expect past deeds of a criminal nature to come to the fore, or some form of karmic reckoning. Varuna making an inconjunct aspect to Ixion suggests that the dark players will be feeling under pressure as the forces of light now block their capacity to move unhindered in the world.

I have highlighted before how Sedna’s ingress into Gemini would begin to bring the issue of child abuse and sex trafficking into the mainstream, and we can of course see this playing out with the recent release of the Epstein files at the end of January, which has made it blatant and clear to mainstream thinkers, that the concerns of conspiracy thinkers have been real all along.

This month may bring more to light in this regard in ways that ultimately change the way that the mainstream perceives the world; these kinds of exposures are happening on many levels, and at times challenging preconceived ideas about how the world is, and sometimes generating shocks.

The elevation of consciousness through distortion mirroring
2 human figures, shadow, light, coloured waves

At this threshold of tangible new beginnings we are challenged to complete unfinished lessons, not because we failed to complete them, but because they fell into dormancy until we were ready to complete them. This is the voice of the Chiron-Eris conjunction in Aries. The gift of Eris is that she helps us complete growth cycles by showing us the consequences when we don't; unresolved personal energy adds distortion to the energy field, which then shows up in outer life as negative or challenging experiences.

Chiron represents the opportunity to bring hidden or lost aspects of self into the light, and especially how unresolved wounding connected to the mis-use of masculine energy repeats in mirror-reflection events in day to day life until we fully integrate. The challenge is in not allowing personal insight to slip back into the unconscious.

A trine to Praamzius links this opportunity to potent shifts in the way we see ourselves, and a shift of gravity toward a more heart-centred consciousness. A sextile to Chariklo in Aquarius highlights how a degree of healthy detachment and objectivity can be a powerful ally when mirror events ask us to welcome home lost fragments of soul and self.

Compassionate action and spiritual engagement help us move forward

Mars in Pisces, in close conjunction to the lunar North Node, makes a harmonious trine to Jupiter in Cancer emphasising compassion and empathy this month. Our actions matter more than usual because they are tied to karma resolution.

  • What spiritually guided impulses do we need to take action on?

  • Will we let intuition, through our feeling function, guide how we engage life during this time?

Mars in Pisces emphasises sensitivity in the way we act, opportunities for healing through forgiveness, and a chance to do the right thing especially if we are tempted to move off track in pursuit of self interested outcomes.

Learning to flow with life is a key part of the current growth opportunity, and for those used to driving and pushing to get things to happen, this might be entirely new territory and quite a challenge.

Finally…

Typhon’s recent ingress into Sagittarius will begin to show us where our beliefs are distorted and out of alignment with the greater good. This new influence is going to show us how deep seated patterns of wounding block us from living our true potential and fulfilling our true life calling.

If unresolved trauma is in play, we are now entering times when this will become increasingly obvious.

While Praamzius trine to Chiron and Eris speak to a fundamental collective opportunity to integrate shadow distortions through encounters with our personal distortion mirrors, the key will be the exact sextile to Chariklo in Aquarius: we must work to hold enough energetic coherence in order to properly stabilise this powerful inner work.

  • Remember to spend time in nature where coherence is easily entrained.

  • Work with crystals like shungite, obsidian and indigo gabbro.

  • Use essential oils to soothe and regulate the nervous system.
